Criminal Possession of Stolen Property
MACEDON - The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, reports the arrest of a Town of Greece man following an investigation into stolen truck batteries which occurred at a business in the Town of Gates in late June of this year.
Joseph L. Ryan, age 40, of 295 Leonard Rd., Greece, allegedly sold the two stolen truck batteries to a recycling business in the Town of Macedon for scrap on the day following the theft. Ryan was charged with Criminal Posession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree, and was arraigned in the Town of Macedon court before Justice Ronald Reinstein. Ryan was committed to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 insurance bond. He will reappear in the Town of Macedon court on August 16 to answer the charge.
Matthew T. Skardinski
Cato Man Faces Multiple Charges
CATO - The Oswego County Sheriffs Office reports the August 10 arrest of Matthew T. Skardinski, age 22, of Pople Road Bldg. 11611, Cato.
Matthew Skardinski was arrested for Burglary, 3rd degree, a class D felony; Grand Larceny, 3rd degree, a class D felony; Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, 3rd degree (suspended twice on October 21, 2010 for Failure to Answer Summons in the Town of Wolcott) and Imprudent Speed following the investigation into a one vehicle motor vehicle accident on Brackett Road in the Town of Hannibal on July 29.
He reportedly lost control of a 1992 GMC pickup causing the vehicle to partially go off the roadway and when attempting to correct, the vehicle overturned spilling debris, scrap metal including diesel motors and a tractor transmission, that he had allegedly stolen from a property on CR 7 in the Town of Hannibal. Skardinski was arraigned in the Town of Hannibal Court by Honorable Judge Hafner and Released On Recognizance with a return to court date of September 6. This remains an open investigation.

Farmington Man Faces Multiple Charges
MACEDON - The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the August 14 arrest of a Farmington man for being part of a home invasion in the Town of Macedon.
Jay A. Teeter, age 32, of 238 Hook Rd., Farmington, was picked up by deputies after receiving a call for help from a Macedon resident. The resident reported that he and Jay Teeter had a common girlfriend. Teeter went to the resident’s home to confront him about his relationship with the girl. Teeter and another unknown perpetrator kicked in the door of the Macedon resident’s trailer and struck him several times.The resident’s injuries were not significant.
At 2:22 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies located Teeter and took him into custody. He was charged with Burglary in the 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Harassment. He was processed at the Sheriff’s Department, arraigned before Judge Crowley in the Town of Macedon court and was committed to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. His case will be heard in the Macedon Town Court at a later date. Sheriff’s Deputies are continuing their investigation into who was with Teeter Saturday night.
